Business Cards - Does Yours Get The Message Across?
Your business card is the most important advertising tool to have. More importantly it needs to be on you at all times. Opportunity can arise anywhere, and you need to be prepared. The last thing you need is to lose potential business because you haven't got a 'card' on you.
The information on your business card and how it is presented is equally important. Let's face it, how many times have you been given a business card with just someone's name and telephone contact, and maybe possibly an email address. Then if your like me, a few days or a week later you look back on the card and 'cant' remember for the life of you' what business the person on this card represented or what you discussed. Get my point!
So at minimum I suggest the following in recommended order for maximum effect:
Your Company Name
Your Name
Your Title
Your Mobile Number / Business line number(both if possible)
Your website address
Your Email Address
Use the back of the card to note what your business is about in one line
You may also want to include other forms of social media for contact onthe back, such as skype, twitter or facebook
If you use an online service such as www.Vistaprint.com where they ask for address lines use these for your mobile and website and email address instead of an office address.
Remember your business card should reflect what you and your business are about, leave no doubts in the other persons head when they walk away and look at your card days or months later.

Get Your Elevator Speech Ready!
How many times have you missed an opportunity when you are waiting for a lift or have got into a lift and you find yourself in general chit chat mode with the other person, and then they ask the crucial question, " so what do you do?" Now depending how tall your building is you have anywhere from 15,30 to 45 seconds to engage and let your potential business contact know all about your business, hence short introductions such as these are also known as elevator speeches.
You want people to ask you more about what you do, so having a short intro, makes them curious and want to know more.
You have about 30 seconds maybe longer to say what it is you do succinctly and be sure to have your business card to hand before that elevator door opens....
Tips:
You may want to start with your name and your company, then a brief one liner about your business. Think of something that will get people to engage with you and ask you more.
So we want to hear some of the funniest business intro's you have heard...leave them in the comments box below.

Network Business Club - What Are We All About?
Welcome to the Network Business Club blog. We are London based business owners and entrepreneurs ourselves, and wanted to get other London Entrepreneurs and Business Owners together in an informal atmosphere to network, share ideas, refer friends / colleagues.
I don't know about you, but boring chamber of commerce meetings, or early morning Breakfast clubs are not my cup of tea.... (get it, early morning...groan) , they are either too early or a tad stuffy. But some of us do attend these events, and I am not knocking them, because they can be pretty fruitful.
So, we came up with a concept and on the 5th of November 2010, it's going to be fun, so get ready with your business cards and a hot tip for you - get your 'elevator speach' ready...we hope to meet some of you then.
To your continued successes
